To print plans you just need to know what paper you will be using, sort out the sheets and send them directly to the physical or virtual printing devices (for example, PDF printing) and devote the rest of your time to other more important processes. You can also customise boxes or stamps to show titles, subtitles or page numbers quickly and easily.
Forget about renumbering plans manually, or needing a whole team of draughtsmen to help you deliver plans. For most functions or work areas that generate graphic information we have taken into account the freedom you wish to work with, allowing you to deliver plans with outstanding quality.
Our powerful system of layers and models allows organising information in a way that facilitates selecting the entities to be fixed. We also provide analysis functions that filter, select, change, move or rotate elements. Some of these functions are specific to process the Z coordinate.
A set of level curves with/without spot height is fixed, including spot height labels or specific symbols, very quickly and easily. Also, by using a specific 3D connection or snap, you can enrich data creating new entities supported directly on the field.
If the entities are not in the right location, you can use the coordinate transformation tool including all possible actions necessary to place the information in the correct position: movement, rotation, scale or Helmert transformation.
You can use topographic control or uplifting data taken on the field with total posts or GPS devices. These will be processed and translated by numerous conversion programmes. If for any reason format is not contemplated, our development department will quickly programme the necessary application.
ISTRAM has tools that allow sectoring the information and saving it in separate files that can later be uploaded by a file manager and area that optimise resources and upload information only when necessary. At an even higher level, it has a cartographic database manager that can handle information at various tiers. Some public bodies have organised their cartographic data system using this tool.
The programme power allows working with large files covering an extension of several km2 easily, also taking into account data isles and using external boundaries designed by you to limit the 2D space to be triangulated.
The models generated can be used in other ISTRAM sections, that is why we offer the possibility of saving them in a special format, specific for other programme functions to be able to conduct a rapid analysis and processing, thus generating various types of data: surface intersections, gradient and hypsometry, levelling and bank volumes, visual basins, flood plains, raft construction, etc.
You can obtain surface and volume measurements of levelling and banks immediately, generating plans and reports to help you back up your data very easily. Unlike other applications, ISTRAM’s profile editor has over 30 utilities addressing all the possible issues that may arise: whether you need to cut out a surface over another one, get an intersection between two lines, etc.
The “electronic notepad” function is an application that allows conducting the most common topographic operations: network compensation, transformations, etc. and it also takes into account the possibility of changing georeference and projection systems at any time. It is usual in the case of tachymeters to code certain points or lines on the field. This peculiarity is completely included in ISTRAM, releasing the surveyor from this tedious task.

Our programme solves all the project manager?s needs. ISTRAM is not an application that depends on a commercial CAD to which certain tools have been added. We are backed by 27-years? experience, during which we have participated in the construction of large civil engineering infrastructures in Spain and abroad.
All the elements you need to manage in your project are taken into account: the starting cartography, the design of ground plan axes, elevation and cross-section, measurements, plans and lists that need to be delivered to the client and all the files involved in the building process. Unlike other programmes, ISTRAM is not a generic CAD to which certain functions have been added.
With ISTRAM you can define from a simple rural road to a motorway with the most complicated section commissioned. The simple work plan is always the same and is always visible. There is no need to drop down complicated menus or sub-menus to add or check whether certain data are automated.
The dialogue boxes integrate buttons, text boxes and tabs that allow defining each part of the ground plan, gradient and cross-section, to which you can access in a logical manner, and where you can automate from the simplest design to the most complicated one.

In various parts of the application you can define parametric or vectorial section elements, allowing the latter to define any type of cross-section: kerbs, slopes, median strips, sidewalks, etc., can have any shape or layout.
When the project’s singularity requires designing elements that change shape or size according to the land altitude, unlike other programmes, ISTRAM provides functions that allow applying different types of sections unattended. A small example is shown with a file of wall sizes that the programme selects automatically from a list prepared by you.
ISTRAM allows flexibly defining the various parts of a cross-section (pack of road surfaces, ground selected, over-excavations, finish of kerbs and under slope) offering users data input to define where and how each surface is to be built, since not all projects are the same.
ISTRAM offers functionalities that allow defining connection relations between axes. This task is dreaded by tracing technicians since they know that with other programmes they must spend a lot of time defining, adjusting, calculating and checking.

The design of any type of construction with ISTRAM includes the tunnel and false tunnel section, offering simple dialogue boxes to define parameters or vectors of all surfaces comprising the vault and counter-vault, or excavation or filling in the case of false tunnels.
Each part of the tunnel has the possibility of defining the excavation and several levels of lining. Each one of the elements defined is handled in the same way as a regular road, the system is 100% compatible, it is not a different application. The lists of geometries and measurements are obtained in the same way a simple road is defined.
Logically, the design of tunnels for underground railways is one of the areas that most benefit from ISTRAM. Many projects in Spain and abroad are optimally designed, benefiting as well from the follow-up and monitoring module, where the differences between that projected and that built are analysed and solved.

The definition of the track apparatus that connect the axis on the ground plan and the definition of the shape layer, ground selected, ballast, sleeper and track are covered by the application, generating the project transversal profile files using the same data structure and therefore guaranteeing that all ISTRAM tools can be used regardless of the type of project.
Naturally, the geometric singularities regarding ground plan layout, elevation and cambers are covered by the application providing design tables that allow adapting to the track geometry defined by the railway authorities.
ISTRAM users need not change application to design pipe layout projects. They just press a key to decide the type of project associated to each axis. This covers in this field the design requirements that allow defining any type of ditch, pipe or covering.
Naturally, the application considers the need to do certain hydraulic calculations that allow engineers to properly size the pipe stretches or use prefabricated elements and typical accessories placed on specific points of the layout.
The measurements and reports obtained are a competitive advantage over other applications that are too specific or focused on mere hydraulic calculations. In the end, you need to present a construction project that is similar to the one required for roads or railways.

Geometry measurements and lists are obtained instantly and are part of your project’s report. There is no need to add any files manually. The whole project calculation and the possibility of organising axes by groups is ideal for the usual sectoring in this type of projects.
Changes on the land surface or ground plan geometry or crossing axis elevation can be immediately recalculated, since ISTRAM automatically finds and defines the necessary curve. Afterwards you can use all the definition lists created automatically and which always include the data of the latest definition.
This does not happen with ISTRAM. From the start you are always certain you are showing the lists corresponding to the latest changes, thus avoiding last-minute surprises when the project is delivered to your client.
